Fireplace maintenance

 

Gas fireplaces need yearly maintenance to keep them looking good and burning efficiently. One of the biggest things that need to be done at least once a year is cleaning the inside of the glass. The byproduct of burning gas will cause your glass to get a film on it turning white as time goes on. This film will start to etch into the glass and eventually cause the glass to break.

 

Does your fireplace glass look cloudy, black or white?

Does your fireplace flames just not look likethey did?

Does your fireplace pilot go out freaquently?

Does your fireplace blower seem louder or making noises?

Does your remote not always work?

• Clean glass on both sides
• Check glass gasket for good seal
• Clean upper and lower cavities
• Clean louvers 
• Clean fronts
• Check logs for proper placement
• Clean burner and replace embers
• Clean and check pilot
• Check and clean burner orifice 
• Check thermopile readings

• Inspect thermocouple

• Check for gas leaks
• Test blowers, remotes and other accessories for proper operation
• Test fire unit for proper venting and operation
